Flexible Scheduling Options

At OSTM, we have created different program options in response to requests for flexible scheduling, and we believe we have the most flexible scheduling options in the state. Many people prefer to complete their study as quickly as possible; therefore we have created a six-month accelerated program. Others prefer a part-time option because they need to work while they study, have the responsibility of children, or simply want to learn at a slower pace. For these students we offer the options of a morning/afternoon program, or an evening program.

6-Month Accelerated Program

In this intensive program, the science, hands-on and clinic practice are taken simultaneously. On a typical day, one half is spent in a science class and the other in a hands-on modality.

  • Monday – Friday: 8:30 am – 4:30 pm & 1-2 Saturdays each month

12-Month Day Program (morning)

In the 12-month day program, students take the science portion in the first six months of the program before advancing to the hands-on modalities and clinic practice.

  • Monday – Friday: 8:30 am – 12:00 pm, 4-5 full days until 4:30 pm & an average of 2 Saturdays each month

15-Month Evening Program

This program is ideal for people who wish to continue working daytime jobs while studying. It is also suitable for those who want to learn massage therapy at a slower pace. Science, hands-on modalities and clinic practice are taken simultaneously.

  • Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday: 6:00 pm – 9:30 pm

15-Month Day Program

This program is ideal for people who wish to take a reduced course load in the first three months of their education to make the adjustment to furthering their education. The 15-Month Day students start by taking A&PI and Shiatsu. After the first three months, students will refer to the 12 month schedule listed above.

  • Monday – Friday: either from 8:30 am to 12:00 pm or from 1:00 pm to 4:30 pm, (depending on availability) & an average of 2 Saturdays each month

In all programs, clinic practice hours are additional and some Saturday work is required. All programs are 1,000 hours, and students who successfully complete the program are eligible to sit for the National Exam and the New York State licensing exam. Program lengths may vary slightly depending on scheduling.

Student Clinic: Hands-On Work Experience

Massage is a hands-on profession. That’s why an integral part of the OSTM educational experience is the Student Clinic. The Student Clinic provides the public with increased accessibility to massage services at a reduced rate, while allowing you to practice your skills in a supervised setting. Work with real clients and gain relevant, real-world experience before you graduate.

All student clinic work is supervised by a NYS licensed massage therapist.
